Come summer we can expect to see a resurgence of the women’s streetwear line Baby Phat.
Kimora Lee Simmons first launched Baby Phat 20 years ago under her then-husband Russell Simmons’ company Phat Fashions. Kimora served as the creative director for the brand from 2000 to 2010, even after selling the brand to Kellwood in 2004.
In 2010 she left the brand entirely…until now. Kimora announced that she had bought back her baby on March 8, AKA International Women’s Day.
We’re half shocked that the brand is old enough to practically be a vintage revival and mostly interested to see what the celebrity love brand will look like now.
What we can expect from Baby Phat
Kimora has already confirmed that the line will feature the classic rhinestone T-shirt that it was originally known for, as well as mix in some modern elements with other archival inspiration.
The result is intended to be a sportswear collection targeted to mainstream millennials.
But with the 90’s/2000’s flair we all know and love.
